The objective of this exercise was to ensure the adequate pollution response at sea in case of a serious pollution incident. In particular: to mobilise quickly various counter-pollution assets, to train fishermen in counter-pollution, to coordinate many counter-pollution assets at sea, to test the contingency plan, to insure communication between sea and land authorities.

On 27 and 28 May 2015, as part of the maritime ORSEC system, the maritime prefectures of the Atlantic and the Channel-North Sea organized a major exercise in assistance to ships in difficulty (ANED) and in the fight against a maritime pollution by hydrocarbons (POLMAR) off Saint-Malo and in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Called Roches Douvres, in reference to the plateau of rocks of the same name located near the exercise area, this interministerial training life size brought together more than 300 soldiers, state agents, private individuals and volunteers as well as around forty nautical and aerial resources.
