The objectives of this exercise were: to test "in situ" the coordination of operations in the sea and on land, to plan and execute in a coordinated manner a response exercise to a contingency by pollutant discharge into the sea, paying special attention to the methodology and organization of decision-making and coordination, to deploy new technologies for the detection and control of polluting discharges, and coordinate their use with conventional tools, used in the response usual of these types of incidents, to check the status and proper functioning of the equipment, to instruct the operational staff involved in the use of the means to combat pollution at sea by hydrocarbons. Within the interaction with the ARCOPOL PLatform project, to evaluate the tools developed within the framework of the ARCOPOL project by stakeholders involved in response activities.

Objectives of the exercise: Proof of constitution and operation in situ of the coordination of operations in the sea and on land. Coordinated planning and execution of a response exercise in the event of a contingency due to contaminant discharge into the sea. Deploy new technologies for the detection and control of polluting discharges developed and/or perfected by companies and institutions participating in the NETMAR project. Check the condition and proper functioning of the equipment. Instruct the participating operational personnel in the use of the means for the fight against pollution in the sea by hydrocarbons.
